AGENCY WORKERS TO RECEIVE EQUAL TREATMENT
The Government has agreed a deal between unions and employers that will see agency workers in the UK receive equal treatment after 12 weeks employment. Equal treatment will mean at least the basic working and employment conditions that would apply to workers who had been recruited directly for the same job. It will not cover occupational social security schemes.

ONE-THIRD OF START-UPS ARE UNINSURED
Twenty nine percent of start-up businesses are operating without business insurance, new research by Insurantz.com has found. Twelve percent did not even know if they were insured or not, andalmost a third were very unclear about what precisely was covered by their policy.
Nearly half of home-workers and new media consultants are operating without insurance. A third of respondents said they had found arranging business insurance overly complicated, which may have led to it being pushed lower in some people’s priorities.
