Newsflash of the week

New research commissioned by the Banker’s Automated Clearing Services (Bacs) shows that the outstanding payments owed to Britain’s small-to-medium sized enterprises (SMEs) grew by £2.6 billion since last year, to a staggering £18.6 billion.

The study also suggests that one in three companies could go bust if faced with overdue invoice of just £20,000.  Almost a fifth of SMEs now employ a dicated person to chase late payments.
